“Pies are an American standard,” says Pie Bakery & Cafe owner
Ellen Kaplansky. “When you mention pie you have to smile. They’re
like firemen — how can you not love a fireman?”
Opened in Newton Center in December 2007, Pie Bakery & Cafe
takes the love of pie to new levels, featuring seasonal pies like pumpkin
in fall and fruit in summer, pies from around the world, and light meals
in the form of pies like knishes, calzones and chicken pot pie. Even
brownies are baked in the shape of pies.
Pie offers both cafe seating and take-out.
